Mississippi law allows convicted
criminals whose offense falls within certain parameters and who have
successfully completed their court-ordered sentence to petition the
court to have their criminal records expunged. The expungement
simply means there is no longer a record of criminal convictions or
charges in the State. Expunging your criminal record allows you to
truthfully attest to potential employers that you have not been
convicted of a crime. It also allows a convicted felon to register
to vote and have their name re-added to the voter rolls. Juveniles
in the State of Mississippi may also petition to have their juvenile
records expunged.
